Love the Colony Cafe!

I finally had a chance to go to the Colony Cafe and loved it! I really like the outdoor seating and the yummy veggie wrap I had. My friend had the veggie burger and loved it too. Next time i'll try the frozen yogurt:)

Rancho Park Post Office News: Save the Westside Pavillion Post Office Group Is Now on Facebook

Hey Rancho Park Residents: The City of Los Angeles Wants to Plant You a Tree for Free

If you've been thinking about planting a tree in front of your house, now is the time. Rancho Park area streets have been identified as potential sites for planting free street trees under a new grant-funded program to mitigate the impacts of pollution from cars.

 

The trees will be supplied and planted by the city of Los Angeles. Residents  provide the water and care needed for the tree to become established, which the city estimates is five years.

Welcome Curren Price -- We are now State District 30!

District lines were certified on August 15, 2011, and Rancho Park is now COMPLETELY within newly designed State Senate District 30.  Rancho Park residents were previously separated into Curren Price's District 26 and Ted Lieu's District.  Those on Little Overland were in Senator Lieu's District.  Ted Lieu has now taken over District 26, which consists of the coastal area.  Little Overland, our neighbors, and all of the Rancho Park area, both north and south of Pico are all now in District 30,… Continue

Possible Westside Pavillion Post Office Closure and a Send Off for Bob, My Rancho Park Postman

Expo Line Phase Two Pre-Construction Activities in Rancho Park

Thanks to the folks at the Westwood Garden Homeowners Association who forwarded this clarification about some upcoming Expo Line nighttime work to take place along Expostion at Gateway, Sawtelle, Sepulveda, Westwood Blvds. and Overland Avenue over the next month.

Rancho Park's Ice Cream Man Makes Summer Sweeter

Yesterday we bought ice cream from Will, our friendly ice cream man who has been driving up and down the streets of Rancho Park and the Westside for the past nine years. End of pet stores in LA as we know them? Rancho Park Councilman Paul Koretz bans puppy/kitten mills

The Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved a motion by Councilmember Koretz that should put an end to the puppy and kitten mills by banning the commercial breeding of dogs, cats, rabbits and chicken and the sale of those animals in pet stores, according to news reports and Councilman Paul Koretz's newsletter.

 

Instead the animal shelter will work with licensed pet stores to make shelter animals available for adoption at those stores.

Westside Pavilion Starts "Controlled" Parking June 1st.

For those of you Rancho Park residents who actually drive to the Westside Pavilion, the parking garage will commence issuing parking tickets allowing free parking for three hours only, followed by different pay scales for different activities, with some of the parking costs going up quickly.  Also commencing will be the new parking guidance system, similar to what was installed recently at Santa Monica Place (or the older version at the Century City Mall).  More information can be found at…

Norms Restaurant on Pico Blvd in Rancho Park - A Family Tradition, A Los Angeles Institution
