Clover Avenue Elementary School Teacher Honored with A National Teaching Award

Congratulations to Clover Avenue School second grade teacher Jackie Bonilla, who won a Milken Educator Award. Bonilla was one of 40 teachers given this honor nationwide and the only one from California. Here's a great video of the awards ceremony.

The gift, given to motivate gifted educators, comes with $25,000 and no strings attached. Read the LA Times story on Bonilla's award here. The story also notes that Clover, which is located off Military Avenue just south of National Blvd. and is the home school for many Rancho Park and Westside Village families, was also recently named a National Blue Ribbon School. It is great to see our neighborhood schools get such well-deserved recognition.
