Saturday, November 1 marks the sold-out world premiere of "Adventures in Candyland", a sugary saga written, performed and produced by a group of students from Overland Avenue Elementary School.
The delicious drama features friends on a journey, goblins up to no good, and royalty in peril.
The Pico Playhouse, Rancho Park's neighborhood 99-seat theater treasure, graciously offered their stage, technical assistance and production expertise to this ambitious troupe, made up of fourth graders - along with a few little sisters.
Profits from the two performances will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
