Janss Investment Co. is why Rancho Park (north of Pico) exists. Like Ray Davies sang about treading on Marilyn Monroe along Hollywood Blvd, you can see all the history as you walk along the streets of Rancho Park, if you just look and tread lightly.

According to one of the original Westwood unit advertisements, the sidewalks in Rancho Park were installed in 1923.  The advertisement noted that homes being built were being sold "from $950 on easy terms"

When do you think this was stamped?

This photo was taken on Tennessee, west of Overland, but the imprints are scattered along every single block north of Pico in Rancho Park.  Most of the sidewalks remain original to the development -- and they were put in before the streets were paved.  Most of the imprints at corner curb-sides -- that is, ON the curb itself -- have vanished due to the addition of the new ADA approved cut-aways at the corners.  If you look carefully, you can still see some in a few places!

Great info and history. Where did you take this picture? Are the imprints on all the north of Pico streets?
