Fourth of July Fireworks in Rancho Park

Rancho Park's skies are home to a great fireworks show thanks to our neighbors at the Hillcrest Country Club. Palms Park Movie Nights this Summer

Palms Park will be showing free movies under the stars this summer. The fun, sponsored by the Westside Neighborhood Council, begins Wednesday, June 26 with Despicable Me beginning at dusk (8-8:30 pm).

Bring blankets and chairs. Popcorn, hot chocolate and candy can be purchased.

Power Outage Affects Over 1000 Homes in Rancho Park/Cheviot Hills

The DWP is estimating power will be restored by 3:00 pm for the more than 1000 Rancho Park and Cheviot Hills customers without power this am. Some residents described hearing a loud pop at 4:30 am followed by their power returning briefly before going out again. Does your home have power? Homes west of Westwood and south of Exposition are out.

CA Supreme Court Set to Hear Neighbors for Smart Rail Lawsuit on May 7

The legal battle over our east/west rail line is heading up north. On May 7, the California Supreme Court will hear arguments in San Francisco in the case of Neighbors for Smart Rail v. Exposition Metro Construction Authority. First Lady Michelle Obama Makes a Phone Call to Overland Elementary School

President and Mrs. Obama are no strangers to the Rancho Park area. Cheviot Hills Park has served as a base for them when they are criss-crossing the city. But today, students at Overland were treated to a phone call from the First Lady as she called to congratulate Overland in Motion creator and instructor Apryl Krakovsky for founding this innovative and invogorating  morning physical education program and to thank her for being part of a movement to get kids moving. Rancho Park Mailman Bob Retires after 25 Years of Delivery in our Neighborhood

Many of you know Bob, the friendly Rancho Park postal carrier who delivered mail to the neighborhoods south of Pico Blvd and both east and west of Westwood Blvds. for a quarter of a century.
