Rancho Park Archery Wall - No More Phone Books! (Part 1)

With a new foam system coming in, the "beloved" phone books had to go!

The backstop for the target wall at the Rancho Park Archery Range in Los Angeles, California is taken down in this time lapse video. The entire effort took the nearly 50 volunteers about 2 hours, and is compressed here to 8 minutes.

Unfortunately, this was only a one camera setup, and much of the action happened off camera. Behind the wall to the right, a "fire brigade" line passed the boxes, bundles and loose stacks of phone books to a series of pick-up trucks. The drivers then hauled each load to the dumpsters where another off-camera crew unloaded.

No audio, but as you watch, feel free to add your own soundtrack, perhaps mimicking calls down the line describing each parcel. "Heavy", "Loose" and "Gross" were the most common.
