If your kids attend one of the public or private schools in and around Rancho Park, then you may already be familiar with the Westside Pavillion's School Cents Program, which gives area schools from $350 to $3000 in prize money based on which school collects the most points during the school year, from Sept 15, 2010 to May 15, 2011.
No surprise that you earn points by spending money at the mall but if you ever needed a rationalization for splurging on those new shoes you've been eyeing, then this is it. You simply shop at the mall and log your receipts at the Guest Services booth on the 2nd floor. You earn 10 points for every dollar spent at a non-department store and five points for purchases at Macy's and Nordstrom. There are a few other simple ways to get points too, which I will list at the end of this post.
Twenty schools participate and based on the latest info posted, Rancho Park-adjacent schools Clover Avenue and Westwood Charter have the top two spots. Castle Heights rounds out the top three. Rancho Park's-own Overland Elementary School is back in eighth place. What gives Overland? Time to walk across the street and start shopping.
Here are the Februrary bonus offers. Double Points for purchases at See's Candies, Victoria's Secret, Merle Norman, Zales, Servis & Taylor and Jewelry Collection. I will repost this closer to Valentine's Day in case you haven't gotten the subtle hint here.
Other ways to earn:
Sign up at the Kids Club Table ( 6pm on the first Wed of the month at the Food Court) and get 500 points.
Sign up for the School Cents E-Mail by following the link on this page. Once you do this, they offer another way to get more points by signing up for their email list.
Earn 100 points by buying an American Express gift card at the Guest Services booth at the mall. Don't forget to log your receipt with them when you buy.
Earn 500 points when you "like" the Westside Pavillion on Facebook. Facebook.com/WestsidePavilion. Just post a reply with your school name. Limit one per person.
