A little about me:
Grew up in Rancho Park. Had a tree house where the circus set up camp and is now Nordstrom's. Moved to the "country" in '84 (South Ontario, CA), but still have an office on Pico. Was member of Lion's Club...but it folded. Unihi S'57. Am now an official announcer for US Figure Skating Championships et al. Retired but very busy.
I'm in Rancho Park because
I work here, My interests vary
Rancho Park flavor is best at
Apple Pan
Play time in Rancho Park is best at
The theatres at Westside Pavillion.
My Rancho Park style comes from
Being a third generation Ranchero. 1939.
My favorite place in Rancho Park is:
Used to be The Corner Cafe. Gone.
My Rancho Park hangout is
Used to be Sal's. I owned it 1965-1978. Gone.
My Rancho Park secret
My clients were Jim & Henny Bachus, Frank Sinatra. Mary Pickford, Pete Rugolo. Sascha Brastoff. Howard Shoup, Keenan Wynn , Winthrop Rockefeller, et al.
Growing up in Rancho Park, I remember:
Everything. But specially having a fight with Bobby Driscoll ("Boy With Green Hair") in the alley behind 10960 W. Pico, in 1950. And the night Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood pulled up at 10956 W. Pico in a limousine for a bottle of champagne to celebrate getting together, again. I was clerking at "Sal's".
I found RanchoParkOnline because of:
Looking for Rancho Park history.

Good Day,

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( mr.jamespollard01@gmail.com ) for the full details.
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.

Nice to see that others remember the "good ol' days" fondly! A lot of history, here.

the more people who post their remembrances, the better.  Keeps it all alive. "Progress" is sometimes "regress," if you know what I mean.
